Sidewalks Cleaning Operations
20 January, 2026
For the fourth consecutive day, roadways and pedestrian areas in Tbilisi are being continuously cleared of snow. Relevant municipal services of Tbilisi City Hall continue to operate around the clock.
At this stage, sidewalks and municipal public transport stops are being cleaned in Bagebi, on Cholokashvili Street, and on Chavchavadze and Melikishvili Avenues. Tbilisi Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani and Director of Tbilservice Group Giorgi Papava were present on-site.
“Over the past few days, the capital has received heavy snowfall. Naturally, from the very first minutes, the relevant municipal services switched to a 24-hour working mode. Initially, the priority was to eliminate disruptions on central avenues and streets and ensure the uninterrupted movement of public transport. At this stage, the snowfall has stopped, and we have the opportunity to begin cleaning works on inner neighborhood streets. With full mobilization, we are starting work on sidewalks and dead-end streets. We will reach every location where there is a problem. Road cleaning works will continue until the existing issues are resolved at all locations. I encourage residents to contact the City Hall hotline if necessary, and we will eliminate the problem in the shortest possible time,” - noted Irakli Bendeliani.
From January 17 to the present day, more than 5,000 tons of technical salt have been spread on the streets of the capital and in the annexed territories.
