Road clearing operations continue intensively in the capital
18 January, 2026
Road clearing operations from snow continue in the capital. Relevant services of Tbilisi City Hall are working in an emergency mode. Along with central streets, internal roads, entrances to underground passages, public stairways and municipal transport stops are also being cleared. In parallel with the use of special machinery, technical salt is being spread manually as well.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, together with Deputy Mayors Irakli Bendeliani and Kakha Abuladze, visited Kojori, where they observed the process of spreading technical salt and the subsequent road-cleaning operations.
“All relevant municipal services are mobilized, including Tbilservice Group and district administrations. I would like to thank the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as we have active cooperation with the Patrol Police and the ‘112’ emergency service. Whenever necessary, hotlines are operational and provide us with information on existing conditions. In addition, the Tbilisi City Hall hotline is also functioning. We also receive information through bus drivers. Central roads and avenues, as well as secondary roads, have been fully cleared and traffic movement is free. There are no traffic restrictions anywhere. Heavy precipitation is expected tonight and throughout tomorrow. We are, of course, prepared and will do everything possible to avoid any disruptions on the roads. The process of spreading technical salt will continue throughout the night. I would also like to encourage residents, especially in the newly integrated areas, to refrain from traveling without winter tires,” - noted Kakha Kaladze.
The Mayor of Tbilisi expressed his gratitude to representatives of Tbilservice Group LLC, district administrations, and contractor companies. These works are being carried out by Tbilservice Group employees in a 24-hour continuous mode. Representatives of all ten district administrations of the capital are also involved in the monitoring process.
Alongside the Mayor of Tbilisi, Tbilservice Group Director Giorgi Papava, Mtatsminda District Governor Davit Kirkitadze, and Head of the City Infrastructure Development Department Giorgi Abutidze were present on-site.
